Ever wonder what it's like to be a college admissions officer?

On Thursday, Feb. 25, from 7 to 9 p.m., Amy Estersohn, a Scarsdale High School alumna and graduate of the University of Chicago, will provide an interactive and illuminating presentation, “A Peek Inside the Admissions Office,” exploring the decision-making processes that make admissions officers tick. Estersohn worked in the undergraduate admissions office at UChicago, where she had the opportunity to read more than 4,000 college applications from students in 45 states, six countries and three U.S. territories. During her time working there, the applicant pool tripled and the acceptance rate fell into the single digits.

As time allows, there will be a Q&A where participants may ask their most pressing admissions questions. Students, parents and educators are welcome to participate.
