Scarsdale resident Barbara Bel, a certified public accountant and partner in the PKF O’Connor Davies accounting, tax and advisory firm, has been named vice president of the New York State Society for CPAs (NYSSCPA) for 2019-20, as one of seven officers.
“It’s an honor to take on this new role with the NYSSCPA,” Bel said. “This organization has been a valuable resource to me over the last 30 years, and I’m proud to assume this leadership role and share the expertise I’ve developed at PKF O’Connor Davies within this respected industry institution.”
Bel specializes in tax and planning advice for privately held companies across a wide range of industries and high net worth individuals. She also consults on matters related to divorce and social security strategies. She has 30 years’ experience in public accounting and is an active member in a variety of professional organizations in the Westchester area.
Over the past 30 years, Bel has held several positions within NYSSCPA statewide and at the Westchester County chapter. She previously was the president of the Estate Planning Council of Westchester and served four years on the AICPA Council.
NYSSCPA is comprised of more than 26,000 CPAs, lawyers, bankers and other professionals from associated industries, aiming to educate, connect and grow membership within the CPA industry.
