The keynote speaker at the Friends of White Plains Hospital spring luncheon on June 4 was Jenna Bush Hager, co-host of NBC’s TODAY with Hoda and Jenna, New York Times bestselling author, chair of UNICEF’s Next Generation Initiative and daughter of former President George W. Bush. The event was held at Willow Ridge Country Club in Harrison. Bush Hager shared stories about her grandmothers, as well as her personal experiences as a teacher, humanitarian aid worker and correspondent to motivate and inspire guests to give back and become involved in their own schools and communities. The Friends of White Plains Hospital presented a check for $1.6 million to the hospital at the event, their largest ever donation. They also granted scholarships to four graduating high school students who spent hundreds of hours volunteering at the hospital. The event also featured a presentation of the hospital’s “Ripple Award” to Ann Edwards, whose service has had far-reaching effects in the hospital community.
