SMS student government members visit DC

Eleven Scarsdale Middle School eighth-graders, all members of the student government, visited Rep. Eliot Engel’s office in Washington, D.C., May 10. Steve Scharf is an eighth-grade social studies teacher and one of the faculty advisors to the student government. The other faculty advisor chaperoning was Steve Rambone, a seventh-grade technology teacher who has been a faculty advisor to the middle school student government for the past 28 years. Engel said, “It was a pleasure to welcome the students from Scarsdale Middle School to my Washington office. As a former teacher myself, I’m always delighted when students from the district visit and take an interest in government. We had a good meeting and discussed some important topics, including the 2020 election. What an impressive group of young individuals.”
