The Pace Women's Justice Center has been chosen as the nonprofit of the night at this season's final home game of the Women's National Basketball Association’s New York Liberty.
New York Liberty will face off against Indiana Fever at Westchester County Center Friday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. Five dollars of each ticket sold using the link, http://bit.ly/2ZsH7wF, will be donated to PWJC.
PWJC offers free legal services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and elder abuse and will use the proceeds to continue to implement programs to benefit those in need. The center helps nearly 3,500 survivors and conducts more than 140 training and outreach events annually. With an experienced staff and a team of dedicated volunteers, including attorneys, students and other professionals, PWJC has built an effective, coordinated community response to interpersonal violence.
"We are excited to participate as the nonprofit of the night," said Cindy Kanusher, executive director of PWJC. "Not only is it a great way to support the center, but it's also an opportunity to watch and cheer on our local WNBA team. This will be a really fun night.”
For information about PWJC and its services, call 422-4069, the legal helpline at 287-0739, or visit law.pace.edu/wjc.
