Mary-Carol (Towe) Miller, 84, of Scarsdale, died on Nov. 25.
She was born in White Plains on Dec. 21, 1934. She graduated from Scarsdale High School and continued her education, receiving an Associate of Arts degree from Centenary College (now Centenary University), a Bachelor of Arts from Skidmore College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Manhattanville College.
She was married to W. Rowland Miller on April 30, 1960 at Saint Pius X Church in Scarsdale.
Mrs. Miller worked as a teacher for Hitchcock Preschool and Scarsdale Congregational Church Nursery School for many years. She enjoyed gardening, bridge, reading and anything that involved her grandchildren. While her children were growing up, she volunteered with Edgewood School events and the Scarsdale Cub Scouts. She taught CCD religious education with her husband at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale, was actively involved in the Scarsdale Woman’s Club and was a member of the Vestry at St. Joseph of Arimathea Episcopal Church in White Plains. St. Joseph's recently honored Mrs. Miller with an award for service.
She is survived by her husband Rowland; children Michael (Christine), Tom, Peter (Annette) and John (Rebecca); grandchildren Kate Miller, Henry Miller, Rowland Miller III and Alastair Miller; sister Joan Diament (Martin); niece Nancy Ford; nephews Greg Miller, Ken Miller, Fred Beraud and Jeffrey Diament, as well as many other family members and friends.
Mrs. Miller was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Jane.
After a funeral mass, she was buried at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph of Arimathea Episcopal Church in White Plains.
