Phyllis Fross, a Scarsdale resident for more than 50 years, died Dec. 10 at Kendal on Hudson in Tarrytown. Mrs. Fross, 91, was a tireless advocate for children at risk, working for many years in Westchester County’s Social Services in both the foster care and Child Protective Services units. A passionate lover of music, she adored attending the opera and singing in the choirs at Scarsdale Congregational Church, the Scarsdale Woman’s Club and Kendal.
Mrs. Fross is survived by her children Erica and husband Rob, Stuart and wife Catherine, Tony and wife Katrin, and grandchildren Rachel and husband Tony, Caitlin, Ethan, Tucker and Chloe. She was predeceased by husband Alvin, a founding partner of the intellectual property law firm Fross, Zelnick, Lehrman & Zissu.
Services will be held at Scarsdale Congregational Church on Saturday, Dec. 22, at 10 a.m. Donations may be made in her name to the Scarsdale Congregational Church or the Southern Poverty Law Center.
