Robert E. Morie, a Scarsdale resident since 1960, died May 22.

Mr. Morie was a World War II veteran who worked on the Manhattan Project. He returned from the war and attended Harvard University through the G.I. bill, where he obtained an MBA. Later he worked for Argus Chemical, which became Witco, where he was the leader of international operations.

Mr. Morie remained active in many organizations including Scarsdale Golf Club, Camp Fire Club of America and the Harvard Club. His family said he was an avid sportsman, he enjoyed playing rounds of golf with his children and he had a great short game.

Mr. Morie is predeceased by his wife Paula Hochwalt Morie, his parents John and Clara Morie and his sister Betty Siefert. He is survived by his children, Robert (JoAnn) Morie, Karen (Diodato) Villamena, Janet (Richard) Carozza and Chris (Debra) Morie; his grandchildren, Sean, Erin, Rachel, Kristen, Robert (III), John, Paul and Savana; and his great-grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Caroline, Lia and Charlie.

The family has requested donations be made to MaryKnoll Fathers & Brothers, 55 Ryder Road, Ossining, NY 10562.
